Joe, these are very nice shots. I like them all very much. I would love to have an opportunity to spend a few days at your nature reserve.
All brilliant Joe. Thats a fine days worth of sightings there, let alone getting good pictures of them too. Palm Warbler and Bittern are my favs.
A very nice series, Joe. The Limpkin is a fantastic capture, a very artistic feeling image.
Excellent shots as usual Joe.I liked your Palm Warbler and limpkin very much. Thanks for sharing.
That is a lot of birds for one outing. All very well caught and done up.
Good catch of the kingfisher, with our limited range lens that is pretty close.
Hello Bobo, thank you for you comments. I won't tell you that there was also Wild Turkeys, Herons, Osprey on that outing. The Florida wetlands are so wonderful for nature photography. Regarding the Kingfisher, it was not that close. It always seems to be 50 yards away, much too far for such a small bird. So even though what I have is a big crop I did not crop it as tight as I would have liked because much more and it would be at 1:1.
Sorry Joe, I tried to pick up one of them as my favourite, but...no way, they are all great! Thanks for sharing.
Another fine set Joe. It never ceases to amaze me how you can find so many different birds, let alone capture them so well !
Dave
Joe, great captures of some great birds. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely lovely images...
Joe, I can understand why too. The Bittern is one of the UK's rarest birds. They are only resident all year round in a couple of small areas of England. The RSPB website states that in winter we only have around 600 that populate the south of England.
I live in the South and am a very keen fisherman so spend a lot of time in the habitats that they would like and have never seen one dispite being in areas that are said to hold them and looking hard. One day!
Love the Limpkin! I especially love the depth of the tree he is perched on to compliment the bird.
Phew a great set Joe i was thinking that the Bittern shot was lovely, I am in the south west of England and we dont get them here either. Then i saw your Limpkin photograph and for me its a standout. I actually think that all three components (bird , log and background )could stand as photographs in their own right but together its awesome. Great phot.Andrew
Very very nice set of images.....I think you took those with your Nikon 55-300mm AF-S VRII lens? I looked it up, it's not that pricey, but I must say I'm impressed with the images. Is this the lens you used? Tell me what you think of it, please.
