Works for me. I think this is one where, as you have done, the horizon needs to be right on the top horizontal thirds line.
I tried it at a 16:9 ratio (which just crops a bit from the right hand side) and I think that maybe works as well. But it may be popular in this more panoramic format.

Nice photo and a good crop. I find the lettering a bit dominant and sugest you try a lighter script font and move it down a fraction so it is a bit further out of the drop shadow.

Yes, Pat, a lovely photo and a good crop keeping in the shoreline ripples. I also think that there is another crop taking out the foreground and placing the cloud/sea line at about a third. A different image, but one that I like very much.

Yes, I would prefer more sky and less sand - but that's just the kind of guy I am...
