Close Encounters of the Sunset Kind
This is the image that I took this evening at sunset. Some people have not figured out where this is. I find that hard to believe, I thought that a one word change from the orginal title would be easy. Hope that you enjoy this one.
Cheers:
Allan

That's got to be viewed full size in the lightbox. Lovely image, Allan.
Location? - You're assuming a familiarity with the movie. I've never seen it and know nothing about its production. So, I don't know where this is, I'm afraid.

The colors in this are really nice. I love how the light seems to radiate from Devil's Tower.

Re: Close Encounters of the Sunset Kind
Wonderful image, Allan.
One tiny suggestion is to position the hill (or whatever it is) off center a bit, possibly by cropping some off the left side.

Kinda shockin'..............I always thought that Devils Tower was a national landmark, I guess it has degraded into a mere midwestern icon. Devils Tower is the first National Monument established by Teddy Roosevelt; it sits in NE Wyoming. Imagine travelling across endless, featureless grasslands and coming across this monolith upthrust from the prairie! During the days of manifest destiny, it would have been an important landmark in westward expansion. It could also be said to be the only thing blocking the winds between the Rockies and the Mississippi River
