LOTS of little birds (posted for interest not C&C)
Hi,
I saw a post recently of a starling roost (note to self - must go and find one), and I was reminded of these. They are called red billed quelias and live in sub-saharan Africa. They are the worlds most abundant wild bird species. They can form huge flocks of millions that take hours to pass, but even here there must be thousands, and there were at least a dozen of flocks like this within 100 metres. Unfortunately, their effects on crops can be devastating - they are know as "feathered locusts".
And when they get mixed up with bigger birds - it can look like something out of Star Wars! (Yes, I know it's horribly soft)
