    Mini Competition #8

    Round 8 ...

    Same as the first seven!

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post images in the thread

    - When we get 10 images I attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person. Theme is nothing in particular, but should be appropriate to this forum (but I won't be getting too critical about this bit).

    Dave's grey bird

    Mini Competition #8
    1/500 @ f11, ISO400, 200mm

Next time, I'll ask it not to fly at such a height that the background cuts the composition in half

I tried alternate crops to put the concrete on a third, but it just made the subject smaller and included waaay more distracting background

    Hi Colin
3 in this bracket. Tone mapped in Photomatix and PP in PS Elements. As I said that is my first play with HDR and as a beginner I am impressed with the result. I think I will be trying more in the future.

Well done - it's one of the few I've seen done via Photomatix where the saturation and contrast aren't applied 6 inches thick with a trowel to give that "HDR look"!

    Hi Markos,

    How's this for Deja-vu ...

While you were uploading your image, I was printing this one for a client!

I had to look twice to see what screen I was on!

It was a beautiful autumn day yesterday so we spent the day searching out the small-secluded coves around loch Craignish. These small coves are seldom visited and are in pristine condition.

This is a photograph of the lichens growing on a rock they are so clean that they look like snow.

I John - I think it might have been (not my photo). Why don't you post yours and we'll compare?

Colin your tree photo is Amazing!!

The coincidences of the topic and of the simultaneity are very strange. Don't ask me how, but I felt someone's eyes looking carefully at my photo just about the time I finished uploading it.

Don't read in this nothing "new wave-ish". I am (usually) a very logical person.

    Colin

My photo was taken pre-digital. I do not have a neg-scanner(yet) it is on my long list of requirements. As I'm at this time trying to prove my need rather than my want for a 300 f2.8 to SWMBO. I think the scanner will be a long time coming.
