Aperture size for landscape

Do you have something against 1/2 or 1/3 stops? What's the reasoning?

Pretty much for the same reasons as Sean (MCQ) have - also though, it's a speed thing; I have aperture adjustments on the index wheel and shutterspeed/compensation in the QCD (Quick Control Dial) - if apertures are restricted to whole stops then I only have to move the index wheel 1/3 as many clicks (whereas moving the QCD is a lot faster).

So there you go - no great technical reasons - just a personal workflow thing.

I looked for the option to change the aperture increaments with no luck. There is an option for changing the ISO by 1 stops versus 1/3 of stop and also for exposure by 1/2 and 1/3 but nothing for aperture on 5D MKII or I am looking at the wrong place.

Probably CF1-1 is as close as you're going to get. Reading through the manual is was actually quite shocked at the lack of customisation options compared to the 1DS3.

I personally do not like theories like this, but sometimes I think these manufacturers intentionally leave out some of these options from some of their models to make people buy their more expensive or upcoming models, where they can easily include features like this one...

Good idea
I found this on the web when after searching for the F stops Increments.
If I'm correct eg 1/200 doubles the 1/400 exposure time, and eg ISO200 doubles the needed exposure time compared to ISO400. Fstops works like mentioned above so with this you could calculate your camerasettings by counting down (or up) from a messured exposure with your camera or a light meter.
