Re: Season greeting to all!
Thank you Donald, John and Sergio. I want to express my gratitude to all the photographs on this site and to the moderators and creators of Cambridge in Color. For all the freindly advices, tutorials and gentles nudges in the right direction, thanks again. For everyone who shared their creations and in doing so triggered some sparks of creativity. It has made a big difference in my learning of the techniques and has kept me going in this journey of discovery.
Lets keep on clicking! Un joyeux Noël et une bonne année à tous!

I like the softness of it. Tell us about the light painting that you did to achieve the look.
And Merry Christmas!

Re: Season greeting to all!
Mike thank you for your good comments. Lightpainting how-to? I achive this look with a new technique I love called Lightpainting. Requirements:tripod, camera set to Manuel mode, speed "Bulb", aperture f/8, ISO 200, lens 18-55mm focal lenght 67mm. In "Bulb" I can have an exposure as long as I desire, in this case 26 seconds. I place my St-Nicolas, teddy bear and Christmas tree on a small table in front of a dark cloth. In the dark room, I triggered the camera with my remote and with a flash-light I first light St-Nick, turned the flash light off. Then I light the teddy bear the same way. Now in the dark I light the tree by pressing the "On" button of the battery operated Christmas lights a few seconds than turned them "Off". I finally I triggered the camers off.
I did all this while dressed in black, being carefull to keep my back to the camera so the flashlight was not pointed at the camera lens.
In Lightroom I cropped a bit, and applied a Black and White antique grey-scale for the look I wanted.
I hope it was not too boring an explanation.

Thank you Debbie, richard, Andrew for viewing and for your good wishes! I was aiming for a feeling of times long ago when it was Saint Nicholas who brought presents and not Santa Claus.
