    Tawny Grog Mouth Owls

Here's a few from this afternoon. My wife's eagle eyes spotted this pair of Tawny Frog Mouth's. A very rare find to see them let alone a breeding pair. One for the birders.

    A very lucky spot Wayne,

I still haven't found a wild owl, let alone two, myself yet, can I borrow your wife sometime?

Wow. They sure don't have a flat face. Thanks for sharing.

    Wayne,

What strange birds. Looks like you were visiting a Harry Potter set. I'm not always certain Australia is actually on Earth, judging from the plants and animals you good folks share. Thank you all for the education, odd as it sometimes is.

Hi Dave, if you can cover her expenses, you can have her :-), No hurry to return her. I might save some money.

The thing is with owls s they save such soft feathers so that they can fly in the night without making any noise. Their prey don't hear them swooping. This makes them also blend into their environment well as they don't have a defined outline. This fella looks very wise and like he is having a good think. I love seeing something unusual, it makes my day. Thanks for your comments.

That is one interesting Owl. I don't think I have ever seen an image of one before or even heard of them for that matter. Thanks for posting, learn something new everyday....well most days.
