Yours forever
I don't know when or where the fad started, but it has grown, and now padlocks can be seen in various places around the world. Railings close to the water are a favourite, as here, at the highest part of a bridge in Stockholm. A couple of years ago, there were just a few, but during the last two years it has exploded. The custom seems to be putting a padlock, sometimes two interlocked, then throw the key into the water.

426 locks is my guess - please advise correct answer and if I get a prize.
If I was selling padlocks I would be promoting the concept vigorously but I would add in very small fine print a statement saying any such usage voided the warranty.

Re: Yours forever
I am paraphrasing what Donald mentioned in another post regarding the padlock fad, this is graffiti without the spray paint.

Re: Yours forever
Great idea. I always lose the keys anyway. Just get it over with more quickly by throwing them off a bridge
