Re: Winter Blossoms
Hi Natasha. Yes, plants can be happy. They don't talk, but they smile. Your third image is really wonderful. It is a nice clear image having contrasting colors and no distracting background. The petals in the upper left are blown out, but the rest of the flower is nicely illuminated. Is there any way you can adjust the highlights with software so we can see a bit of detail in the upper left? Even if you can not, I like the photo, and yes, that flower is happy.

This is the first time I'm posting my pictures so thank you so much for commenting! . I don't know how to edit pictures so I can't adjust the picture like you suggested. But I'll try if you can recommend a software!

Hi Natasha,
That's a good start - welcome to the CiC forums from me.
When shooting flowers in sunshine, you need to be careful of over exposure.
I see you shot the first with a Canon PowerShot A3400, which doesn't have manual exposure control - it does have "Exposure Compensation" though, if you set this to -1 or even more (-2) when shooting such subjects, it may avoid the need to deal with this later.
Regarding software for editing; have a look at this thread; Best editing software...easy to use
Cheers,

I too vote for #3 Natasha - a very nice image. It's great the way the petals just naturally look as if they are a watercolor with the red bleeding into the white.
