It would have been interesting to see how it looked as a sunrise or sunset shot. Also, I normally wouldn't put a horizon through the middle, but I can see why you might have had to do that on this occasion.

You are Colin, absolutely right about the horizon being in the middle.
I will correct the picture because I agree with you and the image deserves a better crop.
I keep the melted original TIF file so I just have to go to it and crop correctly.

I was not possible to shoot at sunrise or sunset because sometimes we are not there any more and the question is to shoot or not to shoot

The image is a stitch of 6 hand hold vertical photos. Manual of course to keep the settings consistent all over the scene.

However,
1) I'd like to see it bigger, since I guess it is a stitched panorama and there's more to see
2) I'd like to know how you did it (how many pics stitched, etc.) and where it is - because I'm nosey

Currently, although 1024px wide (our normal preferred max.); it is only about 105kB, so I reckon you could go to 2000 (or 2048 if you prefer) wide as it is a special case.

Sorry I can't do it bigger. On the contrary I had to make it smaller because I have not enough sky and I don't know how to clone it perfectly.

I re-croped the picture, now with 3/7.
It was shot in the Republic of Ireland.

I really don't know anything about this business of size to the net.
But, as I have already re-sized the image and I hope it will be OK.

It is all very well following rules like the rule of thirds but I prefered it as it was.

Everything seems to be rushing away, the clouds and sea to the horizon. Is that deliberate?

About the rushing away:
No it is not deliberate.
I rarely transform the photos for two reasons: I don't know how to and I am too keen about the way they go out of the box.
However I would like to know how to do it. But there are more important things to learn ...

As I was working again on it I noticed the rush of the clouds, but it is absolutely natural.

But oh boy they take me so long to do...
The stitched file in tiff is about 350 Megas and the Mac seems to fade away the poor...

Yes, I thought that too, but because it is Antonio and we (well, I) get used the technical aspects being spot on, that I neglected to give him credit for it

My vote goes for the original, wider version.

I still think it would be possible, from the large original stitched pano, to re-size for web down to 2048px and not 1024px

I have re-scaled the inserted versions hoping that now it is OK.

The wider version gives a sense of wideness reinforced by the long crop.
I also like best the first version in spite of...

well mr antonio........this pic lacks any point of interest that really attracts a viewers attentions. even the framing is not helping the viewer in any way the land is totally dull and lifeless except the farout structures.which look minute the skyscape overpowers the landscape in many ways.......had the framing been cropped or framed before clicking,cutting off the land just below the struturess,it would have totally been another story......framing before clicking, is a good way to tell a story that touches a viewer heart...cz its natural way to tell a story that comes from a photographer heart

Maybe you can show us exacly what you mean from one of your photos.
I always like to see powerful landscape images and evaluate the photogrphers perspective...
