Re: Green Bee Eater
Hi there,
you have certainly captured a very sharp picture of the bird, we done. The bluring of the background is a little to heavy for me, I don't know if you would consider crop a small amount off the top and righthand side. If you did this I think you would also need to clone out the twig/leafs at the bottom right, to balance things up a bit.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
John

Hi pinakibaidya,
I spent a while studying this thinking that some 'heavy handed' cloning had been done, or the lens had awful bokeh, but in the end, I decided it is just a very 'unsympathetic' background lit in an even more unsympathetic way
I wonder if toning the exposure down on the background (and foreground) might help?
Don't over do it though.
Cheers,

Re: Green Bee Eater
Excellent shot. The bird is nice and sharp.
The background is distracting as posted but not that much when looking at the larger version in the lightbox.

Re: Green Bee Eater
I would certainly crop closer to remove some of that distracting background.
But I wonder about cropping and/or cloning a bit from the left side as well to remove that small piece of twig which I find the most distracting from the bird.

Re: Green Bee Eater
Thank you all.Dave had posted bird photographs taken by Nikon P510?I am thinking of buying one.I can not decide whether i should invest in a new compact camera or in a teleconverter both of which are similarly priced.Awful background was due to f/6.7 aperture.Though maximum aperture at 300mm is f/5.6 i have found it hard to autofocus sometimes at maximum aperture.Any suggestion?
