    Re: Self Portrait

    Hi Kelvin,
I'm really sorry to here your news. 37 years is a long time to be together. I'm sure you both know each other as well as you do yourself. In my humbe opinion and forgive me if I talk out of turn; it would be best to tell her as soon as possible and continue to enjoy life as best is possible under the circumstances. Being strong and trying to be positive is hard; with the bond you have; working together as a team will make being postive for the future that little bit easier. I wish you both well.

Well I guess you would like some feedback on your pictures?
No.1 I think has come out really well and I like it.
No.2 I'm not so sure about. I don't like the way the plant in the background has lost most of its detail and its a bit distracting to me. Overall the picture looks 'soft' was that your intension?

Thanks for sharing and keep strong my friend. If you ever want to talk just PM me.
    Kind regards
    John

I agree with John. It's best to tell her now. My father went through this with my mother. It's very difficult, but when you both understand what's happening it's a bit easier to cope and get support. I sincerely wish you and your family well.

Yes my intention was for the image to be soft. I didn't want any harsh details. The plant has a certain meaning to us so I included it. Thanks for the kind words, trust me this thing will not beat me. I will fight till the end. I will tell her today!

Thanks for sharing that Kelvin, that must be hard to do.
I like the way the first portrait brings out the eyes and the skintone against that black background. Very nicely done. The placement is great and draws me in immediately. That lightbrown detail in the eye is the best for me.

Kelvin I'm sorry to hear about your medical problem. IMO you made the first step by coming out on here. Now you need to be brave again and tell your wife. I echo John's comments (first paragraph) in post #2. If you have problems telling your wife , as a suggestion you could let her read this thread.
BTW of the two images posted I prefer your first image.
    Take care and good luck.

I too echo the sentiments above. Tell her and two fighting the same thing is twice as effective as one.
#1 is my preference. Having just received the news you look so calm and thoughtful. Good luck my friend.
