re: A beautiful lake
A tip for this foto. The composition is good. The photo would be more interesting when in the lake a "figurant" was available, like a boat or a swan. This would make the picture more interesting in my opinion. But you are depending on what available is offcourse.

re: A beautiful lake
It appears to me to have a blue colour cast, which gets it to me a very flat look.
Cheers:

Re: A beautiful lake
Hello drishya. A very nice photo with a serene feeling. I would say that the green grass and other foliage is a little bit too saturated or vibrant for me. I would tone that down a little bit. If you are using Lightroom, you might also try using a graduated filter / gradient on the sky to make the top a little darker blue, similar to the appearance of using a polarizer on your camera lense. Nice picture!

Re: A beautiful lake
This is a lovely and serene image. I wonder if a polarizer whould have helped in this case. Perhaps it would have reduced the dynamic range of the image by reducing the reflectons from the lake and darkening the sky. Then, perhaps you might have maintained some information in the darkness of the trees.

Re: A beautiful lake
I agree with Richard; it's a shame the detail in the dark areas of the trees has been lost.
Thanks for sharing.
