Hello from Toronto, Canada!
Hi there everyone. I'm Vanessa from Toronto.
I have always loved taking photos but kind of lost touch with it during the film years because it was bankrupting me. A few months ago I decided it was time to start enjoying it again and so I finally bought myself a DSLR. I have always had the point and shoot type cameras but they always left me with a feeling of wanting something more.
I use a Sony A57, which I absolutely LOVE, and I have a handful of lenses to go with it. I lucked out and bought it used online, only three months used, and the man I bought it from threw in a few of the lenses. Since then I have picked up a few more.
I really love taking photos of animals, especially those at a Farm Animal Sanctuary that a friend of mine runs (that is Ashli's eyeball in my avatar - a sweet jersey steer), but my real love is abandoned places. We actually have quite a number of old homes and properties that fit the bill just outside of Toronto so I have been busy, busy, busy the last few months. I am not terribly keen at altering my photos in software programs but I would not be adverse to learning a few tricks here and there.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing your fabulous windows to other places!

Welcome, Vanessa. I look forward to seeing your derilect buildings. This is a great place to get you back into the swing of things, very helpful and friendly. There are even plenty of Sony shooters here to keep you company {myself included}.

Great to have you here Vanessa.
Old buildings are one of my favourite subjects as well. Look forward to seeing your images.
Mark me as a Sony user too.
Cheers, Greg
