He looks like a very serene fellow. #1 does seem a little sharper, but I like them both, he appears to be posing and waiting for you to finish, good fellow.

Very nicely done, walad. An interesting bird , i've never seen before. The first image looks great , as is, but the second one is in need of some contrast. Perhaps an increase in blacks as well.
