Yes nice image.

For some reason, I always think that cloud photos look better in 'landscape mode' not 'portrait'. For instance a 90 degree rotation to your photo.

No logical reason though.

Hi Beach Girl.

The clouds that you showed are unusual, but the question is do they spark any emotion in the viewer? Even though using some imagination, we might see a recognizable object, I can not find anything in the image to focus on and give my brain an opportunity to dwell on and think about. Sorry. I know that is not what you wanted to hear.

Hi Ken,

I am by no means a "professional" photographer, in fact I'm just starting out and having fun with my new camera! I realize not all of my photos, if any are going to evoke some sort of emotion in each individual - what may be brilliant to some may be dull and boring to others. For now I'm just enjoying the beauty of nature and sharing with others.

When responding to these posts, I don't always know the individual's skill and experience level. I have a bit more experience, but still have a long, long way to go to become good at photography, and I can understand how good you feel just capturing something pleasing to yourself. No worries Ken! I was looking at the second picture of the cloud and noticed an angel ~ The face is at the top (about 2.5 inches from the right corner, then the wing comes down to the left, the body is goes downward, looks like a dress. Maybe it's just me!

This is a lovely image that can invite the eye to make out of it what it may. The very Blakish angel takes a while to see but it's there. Then the 'feathers' morph into a vast wing. I suspect that a boost in contrast will help the image engage the eye as less a bit of reportage (cool clouds) than an interpretation (look what I see in these cool clouds). A conversion to black and white would also do. The trick is to make your intentions unambiguous. Whether on the web, a gallery or in an album, you only have one or two seconds to engage the eye and persuade it to keep looking until it sees what you intend it to.
