Hi Jack,
Hope this doesn't come over as too critical
I started off thinking there was a bit too much distracting stuff either side and wondering what losing 15% off each side would look like.
Then I noticed that it could do with a small rotation anti-clockwise (or is that counter-clockwise in US?)
Then I thought it's a shame there isn't more at the bottom of frame so we can see the bottom of the foreground bridge. However, I expect the bottom is missing because it also contained a lot of distracting stuff which you have framed or cropped to avoid. You probably also had to dodge the traffic?
Hope that helps,
Id echo the sentiments about the sides being a bit cluttered and distracting from the bridges being the subject. However the colour in the trees is nice. Its almost like this wants to be split into two different pictures that than one.
I like it a lot. Generally I don't notice clutter but would it be better if it was a portrait shot slightly more to the right to show the traffic. This of course would take the emphasis away from the bridges, so I don't know without being there.
A view of NYC I have never seen.
I see your point, the crop definitly works.
I love how so many colors are visible in this shot!
