The alligator appears to have a purple sheen to the skin, is this accurate? Thank goodness that I live in New Zealand where the only biting creatures are fleas, a few mosquitos, the 2 spiders and quite a lot of sandflies (mainly in the west coast of the South Island)

Hello Ken, I think you are right about the color being a little off. I had another go at setting the white balance. Reads you post about biting things in New Zealand and remembers a show on television about very large eels that bite people, even reports of deaths.
