Shores of Lake Ontario

It was not the best of weather, but that can give the best of shots. The storm front was working it's way through the area so a group of us went out to see what we could get. If you asked most of the others what it was like they would probably reply, it was late in the day, it was grey, there were clouds, there was some ground fog, not a nice day to take pictures. Ask me and I would have said it was great, wind moving the clouds slowly across the sky, good structure in the clouds for drama, soft lighting, some ground fog to help set up some mystery all in all a great place and time to shoot. Cause you take the image not only for what it is, but what it can be and there was a lot of can be. I had fun.

Oh yes, it works!
The muted tone of the grass goes well with the moody sky. Color photography doesn't always have to be colorful, does it?

I am one of those you mention.

But with a slight difference. I know what is there just too lazy to get out and do it.

This shot works well and the clouds/lake conditions appear to almost merge into one.

Me too, I like the moody sky.
someone said recently they do not like sunsets and I think skyshots.
The shots have been done to death and the shots need something more.

This one has it, the single tree (well maybe a bit more) and the shore and sea, they all seem to go together.

Not sure I would have taken it, I think I would have missed it.
Because I would not have "seen" it.

I really like it. Better than straight out over the lake - the shore and tree included makes it.
