I read that this morning Carl.
His work is incredible and I don't even begin to understand the practicalities involved ( even though he explained them well)
I totally understand about photography saving his sanity though.

My best light sphere so far. This is a technique that I find most interesting. I used a small light string powered by a small battery pack. I would not recommend the steel wool used in the examples links on the internet, because everyone that has tried it reported skin burns due to the fact that the steel strands separate from the main bundle when burning and fly away, landing everywhere. Warning: hot burning metal!
As for crop, I do not know what would be better, center the sphere or not? What do you think?
