Well I must be less threatening than you. I have both my home and work computers set to leave me signed in and it seems to work. Set remember me on the sign in panel - note there are two I checked both for it to work. I do not think billing a Scotsman without any enforcable contract is going to be very productive.
Send me the bill, Benny. I'll be happy to decorate my trash can with it.No problems with having to sign in from my corner of the Internet.
By the way, if you use that little clasp thingy, you'll be able to put fuel in your car even when you're snapping photos.![]()
I should be honoured that I'm thought of as someone with enough authority to decide whether or not folks should have to sign-in to the forum. But I'm afraid I'm just a little moderator who neither has the knowledge, skill or permission to do such complicated things.
As others have said - Sign in, Check the little 'Remember me' box and you should never have to sign in again. I haven't signed in for about 3 years.
As for the fuel pump - Do they still allow use of those clasps in the US? They removed them from UK pumps years ago and you have to continually hold the trigger nowadays.
PS - Invoices? Oh, they're the things you ignore, aren't they?

Signing in works fine on one computer, but is difficult from the next. Both use Firefox, but are at different locations.
Since a couple of weeks signing in on one of them isn't necessary anymore, but the other keeps asking me. If the website isn't refreshed now and then it seems to log out automatically. A bit irritating, but doable. Probably a forum tweak. One other forum I use has the same issue, most of the others keep me logged in all day without the need to refresh now and then.
Tick the remember me box.
I'm always signed in on my iMac, Mac book, iPad and iPhone as well as Cindy's PC.
Bit of a CiC junkie![]()
All my sessions auto-sign-in just fine for me.
Sounds to me like you've got a security restriction on cookies.
I did strike this once years ago ... think it was due to an old browser at the time.
Why sign out? This place is like Hotel California, 'you can check out any time you like but you can never leave!'
.....and who would want to?
Tick the box Benny...you know you want to.![]()
I like my little claspie thingie dangling as I was 21 and moved to another state before I even saw one.
Apparently the region I come from is so poor that vendors are afraid that consumers will accidentally pump more than they can afford and then not be able to pay or just jump in a run.
Oh EYE C now you have to mark BOTH little check boxes AND give a finger print.....
I swear to God the things I do to understand white balance............
On second thought I may try that shot again the next time I fill up and leave the clasp on and see if I can catch the gas vapors bellowing out of the hole........
The nozzles I use have the clasp thingies and when the tank is full it automatically 'un-clips'. Did wonder about places behind the times which make you hold the nozzle all the time in my travelsOnly occasionally do I buy a set amount and after entering the amount required on the pump the pump cuts the supply so holding the nozzle is not needed and frees one to clean the windows ... something I found completely absent in the UK ... one attendant asked me if I was from Australia when I asked about windscreen cleaning things. Seems we are more advanced down here, or have not slipped as far
20P to check the air in my tires URRRGH!
Those little claspy thingies are handy if:
1. It is so bloomin' cold that your hand will freeze to the handle.
2. You want to wash the windscreen while the pump is is pumping.
I still remember when the filling station attendant would come out and wash the windshield for you, offer to check the oil, and add pressure to the tires while the pump was pumping.
Sometimes the sensor is faulty causing the tank to overflow wasting fuel on the ground, but they seem to be getting more reliable lately. Probably some environmental pressure brought to bear.
I believe the entire state of New Jersey has attendants to pump your gas. Kinda got me in a little trouble last summer when I snapped at the guy to "Get away from my car!!"
Regarding clasps on gas pump handles...
There is at least one other state (Oregon) in which the driver is not allowed to pump his or her own gasoline. The gasoline MUST be pumped by the attendant. It is said that the state doesn't allow self service gas pumps "for safety reasons". However, the other 48 (or so) states + territories don't seem to have a safety problem with self service gas pumps. I think that this is a make-work situation to keep unemployment lower...
