    Shades Of Clay

I took these along a lake shoreline yesterday, just walking and snapping with a 70-300 segma. There are enough of these unusual formations around that I could go there and get a pretty interesting collection, especially if I started moving them around to create a full scene with them...
I was hunting indian artifacts so I wasn't really looking for these but they are interesting as surface material goes.

I LOVE these colors and so do other people, I wash thinking about making some poster size prints just to see what they look like. I easily plucked them out in adobe, you can put them together most any old way and they look balanced.

Anyway any advice on how to capture these appreciated, I think I will go back and spend a day actually thinking about these shots before I take them. The last image in petrified tree roots.

Great colors. I really like the broken one (that would be hard to move unless you are really good at jigsaw puzzles). I would have to collect several and have a go at it with a group shot or two. The petrified tree root is very interesting, would like to see more. Thanks for sharing

Very interesting images showing the variety that nature can provide.

One thing I might mention: it would be easier for me to see the images as individual photos if there were spaces between the postings...

I think they are very nice, interesting and the colours you've captured in your photos are beautiful.
