Zoo hippo
One good thing about a ZOO - you can get pretty close.
I had to wait a while for this one to emerge from under water and take a breath so I could get her with open nostrils.
Any C&C welcome!

Re: Zoo hippo
Nice shot... Avoiding the man made enclosures and catching the animal in an animated position is always a problem with zoo imagery. You have done well on both counts!

Re: Zoo hippo
Hi Andre. Very nice shot of a great animal! Nice composition. Maybe it could benefit from a little "fill light" to better show its right eye area. My 2 cents...Thank you for sharing!

Re: Zoo hippo
Thank you Nandakumar.
Richard, coming from you I accept it as a great compliment.
Otavio, the shot was taken at the worse time of day. If it was not for my wife rushing me I would have waited for a better shot.
This one was taken with a little different exposure (ISO change). I was shooting in Auto ISO - it is the quickest way of changing exposure to get different effects IMHO.
llustrates how mood an colour changes with lighting.
No it is not the same shot. Look at the ripples in the water.
