Everyone is probably sick of the swans by now so something else from the same location.

Went there after the big snowstorm and as expected 2 feet of snow everywhere but the carpark had been cleared. Winds were exceptionally high and though warmly wrapped up, should have put on the face mask.

Trudging around was pretty hard and slippery so spent much less time then I would have.

Saw a redtail hawk but he flew off just as I had the camera on him. No shot.

Comments/suggestions welcomed and appreciated. Particularly #2 and #3 - do they look over-sharpened?

1. Bufflehead - cute looking guys particularly the male.


2. Pigeon - too close to me not to take a shot.


3. Mallard (female) on ice.

Bobo, I am sorry but I am in no position to critique any of these shots. I am just looking to see if I can learn something. Need to learn how to capture birds.

To me they are all good, if I had to say something - maybe you can leave a tad less empty space on some.

Bobo, another very nice series! Perhaps the #2 (pigeon) might benefit from cloning the green/yellow background stain out.

I loved the sliding mallard!

The "stain" is a mallard who swam by just as the shot was taken. Bad boy!

Suggestions taken on board. Will fix later.

Nice series. I like image #3 the best out of the series. Perhaps, in my opinion that image would look even better with a vertical crop. Look at the complete image, and forget the "rules"
