    Lunchtime by the creek

Everything stops in the early afternoon in the souks and by the creek in Dubai. Shops close, water taxis moor up, loading of dhows stops and everyone relaxes for lunch.

Here a couple of abra drivers take lunch while the larger dhows wait to be loaded.

But Phil, the sign says 'loading and unloading is prohibited'

While I am a fan of monochrome, I have to say I wonder what this scene would look like in colour. From what you have said about the scene I imagine it is very hot and bright, but I don't get that sense from the b&w.

Perhaps its just the level of post processing but the people are less noticeable in the b & w version; perhaps thats a good thing, than in the color version.

It's rare that one of your compositions doesn't work for me, but this is one of those times. Even with the benefit of your explanation, there is nothing about the image that says, "This is the subject."
