Joining a little late to this conversation.

Re the first picture. I'd like to see the contrast somewhere in the middle between your edit and Andre's. For me it lacks a little detail. Also, on the upper left side the plate shows some bubbles on the surface. I'd would remove those since they are not pleasant to the eye.

It's nice to see someone posting images about food, which is something I work on frequently.

Good eye for detail for the bubbles. Experience counts, and something I need to gain.
I've adjusted the contrast somewhat and worked on the bubbles. It's a result of having the ice cream moved around several times - no excuse, I agree I need to fix it. Seeing it first is what matters .

I like your final edit of the ice cream. Good job!

Re the two new images:

On the Mee Krob I'd crop on one side to take the subject out of the center. In general I like it, but maybe you went a little too far with the sharpening, the noodles like a little dry and they not invite to taste them. The shrimp looks good.

For the lobster I think you could improve on the composition. The lobster should be the hero, but now is hiding behind two blurry shrimps. If you were using your diffuser, why does the light looks so harsh on the subject?
