Orchid Test Shot...
More years ago than I want to remember I purchased the Nikon 5T and 6T screw on enlargement lenses. I used them with my film camera. Recently I purchased the Nikon 70-300mm lens which has a filter size of 67mm. The former Nikon standard size that the 5T and 6T fit was 62mm. Today I received the step down ring I had ordered. I shot this to evaluate the resolution and acuity of the 6T lens. The orchid blossom is about 1/2 inch across.

Looks perfect, even at full screen size.

Looks very nice to me, too. I use my Tamron 70-300 vc for a lot of flower closeups (including an orchid shoot this past week) and I might enjoy a closeup filter. It has a 62mm filter size so not problems there. I might want to lower the brightness of the orchid a bit to bring out some more of its shape but the filter does not seem to be lowering the iq at all.
