How was that lit?
I think it's a good image. The one thing I did wonder was whether you could crop tighter onto the carving. I can see how the space around about contributes to the image, but wonder if there is too much of it? be interested to read your own views and those of others.
Good atmosphere, Martin, though I am not sure what you mean by 'full size". Life size?
Nice image, especially the composition and deeply saturated tones that are used with restraint. I would crop to eliminate about half of the space at the top but I think the space at the sides is ideal.
That was my first thoughts. Particularly at the top.
I would probably reduce the top space by half. Which, I suppose would mean reducing the sides by the same amount, divided into left and right reductions, if you want to retain the same size ratio.
Otherwise, very good shot.
yes I did mean 'Life Size' albeit about 4 ft tall
It was lit by light painting with a flashlight (torch). It was the only way I know of to keep the background dark...
