Yes, as per what Mike wrote.
But also, it is worth mentioning: that if you switched to Manual Camera Mode (as opposed to Aperture Priority) then the Exposure Compensation would have been null.

Also, understand that you would have many other options if you wanted to use F/8, example
    F/8 @ 1/400s @ ISO100 ≡ F/8 @ 1/800s @ ISO200 . . . etc . . .

For example, I might have chosen ISO200 and thus a shutter speed 1/800s, if the Goose were frisky – the faster stutter speed to assure no Subject Movement was captured in his head or neck.

    Sorry, the commentary was simply "All shot with 5D + 100/2.8M: F/8 @ 1/1000s @ ISO250 (work it out)" -
the "work it out”, meant that by using the f/16 Rule for exposure I ensured that any part of the White Fur which was in direct sunlight, would not be Blown Out.
I have another set of images for illustrating the F/16 Rule, which has a more detailed explanation underneath the first image – I made an error thinking the “Guard Cat” was that set.

Addendum - I also would most likely have chosen 1/800s, becasue you were not using a VR lens - I just noticed that fact.

Hello Christina, I looked at your first image again and did a quick edit. I lowered the exposure and sharpened it. Nothing wrong with the image.

    Hi Joe,

Thank you so much for doing this... It helps me to see what I still have to learn about editing...
