Yeah - but - later on the OP said "I think I will give LR a go if only for the catalogue facility." - and that's when I chipped in with the warning that you disagreed with.

Now I understand.... I chipped to much text in...
My disagreement was about the use of DNG as only way to save edits data beside the LR database...

    Cheers

That's cool, but I didn't say DNG was the only way, only the way I strongly recommend (which I stand by, for the reasons previously mentioned).

    Ok Ok Colin,
you are right, and this is why I said my disagreement was only partial. It seems the misunderstanding is now clear, and we are in agreement at the end. All's well that ends well...

    An unrelated question.
Lately I have problem replying to threads, the browser keep me log me out, or when I switch between quick/advanced it ask me to log in. So I have to recover the text/ or rewrite it, and this may cause some mistakes. For example, just to stay in this thread, the text I chipped or the words "but growing" chopped.
Do you know if there is a time limit, or something similar? Any idea?

    Cheers.

We do seem to get funny issues from time to time, but generally they only seem to affect small groups or individuals, which makes it very hard to track down the cause. Some seems to be PC related and others seems to be due to ISPs caching bad data.

Try to narrow it down by logging in from a different PC (to rule out a PC problem) then a different PC connected to the net via a different ISP (to rule out a caching issue). You could also try a different browser (Chrome gives me fewer compatibility issues here than Explorer 9). You could also try deleting cookies and flushing your browser cache.

Good to know that I am not the only one, and that the number of affected user is small.
Indeed the behaviour was erratic, and probably do to the fact that in these last days I was changing computers and providers rather frequently. Now I am back at home, in a more stable configuration, so I can do some test.

    Thanks
    Andrea
