This has the making of being SUCH a wonderful photo, Miguel. Congratulations! My thinking about that explains why I just have to follow up on your discussion with Phil.
When I view your image, the very first thing that I see is the bright spot on the tree that Phil mentioned. The second thing that I see is the adorable child. I'm sure you agree that the child should be the first thing that you want your viewers to see.
It took me about 30 seconds to select that bright spot and tone it down. I also took another 30 seconds to tone down the bright light on the right side in the background. I'm sure I could do a better job of it if I took a few more minutes and had your original full-size file to work with. But now that I have done this, do you still think the process takes too much work? More importantly, do you like the version below better? (If not, don't hesitate to mention why.)
