    Have a guess :)

    Mini Competition #37

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forum.

    Nursery Guard

    Mini Competition #37

Thought it was time for another spider.

This one, Pisaura mirabilis, weaves a silken safety tent amongst leaves and stands guard until it's young are big enough to face the wide world on their own. Hence it's common name of Nursery Spider.

John, my first thought about your excellent fungi photo was Oyster Fungus but having double checked I see that yours is too white.

However, if you ask on the Wild About Britain Site - Fungi Forum http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/forums/fungi-forums/ I'm sure that someone will very quickly give you a correct identification.

    Re: Mushroom

It might be Pleurocybella porrigens, but don't take my word on it. I would not eat it, that's how unsure.
