Need some help

Hi All! I am new to the forums but have been spending the past month reading the tutorials on this site. It is amazing and I have learned a ton.

I come here today asking for help (I hope there is where I should direct it). My father-in-law passed away last Monday. The attached image is the last picture that was taken of him and one of only two that were taken with my daughter. His wife took the picture with her iPhone, and as you can see, the quality is awful. She is heartbroken that it looks so terrible when it's printed. I have done everything I can, but it just isn't looking any better. Can anyone out there assist in making this picture look better? Is there any hope?

Welcome Kayren,
I'm sure there is much that can be done to the image - and many who would be willing to do so.
However, it is a very small image so working on it is going to be more challenging than a larger image. In this case, size matters - and 454 by 700 pixels is very small (even a 3x4 inch print is pushing the envelope).
If you can post the original -no post processing applied - that would be best.

Great! See if the one I did earlier is it OK? I have gained this same problem of taking photo with mobile phone..

It looks great! Hopefully, the larger image will make correcting it easier.

Hi Kayren,

I have downsized this to 700px tall to improve the quality, but that may not be big enough to print from.



There is also a bigger version, but I don't think it looks as good.

Thank you so much, Dave! I have downloaded both of these and will print them today. This will make her very happy. We are all still in a bit of shock, but we will get by together.
