Was trying out the HDR features of the camera and came up with a couple of reasonable camera generated shots. But too HDR'ish for my liking.

Picked 2 of the properly exposed shots and came up with this composite.

Views/comments please. First time I have given such technique some time.

Very creative construction for an HDR - and the result sure works for me. Would be curious to know what the "too HDRish" in camera results looked like.

What ISO setting, shutter speed did you use?

Unfortunately the camera generated HDRs were deleted. The first source image is the only one remaining as it was the most natural looking one of the lot.

Setting for the source images were
1/20, f5.6, iso 400 for the first
1/8, f5.6, iso 400 for the second

Both at 135mm, hand-held.

I get it now bobo. You focused on the window and then on the background and combined the two shots. (Not an HDR)

Nice idea for a blend. Works well. You even have a hard edge to blend to.

Hey Bobo, I like the idea, and execution. It does something weird to me though, and I can't explain it. It's almost like I can't focus on it, even though everything is IN focus. Weird. Probably just me, and I can't explain if it's an effect of knowing that it's an impossible situation to begin with, or if not being able to clearly look at it makes me realize it's an impossible situation.

I wonder if anyone else has this happen to them, or if my wife is correct, and that I'm 'weird'.

He said he deleted the HDR's , because he didn't like the way they looked. The composite was made from the HDR base images, if I understand it right?

Yes, it is not a HDR - only a composite of 2 images.

Steve - yes the hard edge helped but the masking was a bit touch and still not perfect.

Maybe I will try the camera's multiple exposure function to see if that is able to merge better.

Andrew - I get the same weird feeling. So there are 2 weirdos here.

The interior views are too toned down to be "too HDR'ish", I think it's the blue-grey cast that gives it an otherwordly look, but its different and it looks good.
