Flower Shots Against Pebbles
On Saturday I was walking along the shoreline of lake Erie and came across these flowers littered about every 30 feet. They just looked so beautiful against the pebbles I starting taking their pictures. Comments welcomed.

Maybe just a few too many pebbles in the first one, Karm?
Possibly try a 5 x 4 ratio crop? More like the second image which really works well.

Exactly what I was thinking about, Karm. A more concentrated scene.

Re: Flower Shots Against Pebbles
Hi Karm,
I particularly like the second one.
I enjoy the colour and mild conceptual contrast there.
Well done!
How would you go getting a little lower and closer to the flower with a larger aperture (f2.8 - though not sure what lens you were using) to throw some of the contrasting lines and shapes of the rocks out of focus and isolating the subject a little more? Kind of what you have done but just emphasised a little more. Softer more even light would emphasise the delicacy of the flower against the colder hard stones... but now I'm getting carried away. You can't just turn down the sun can you ?
Just a thought, and I love what you are doing here

Hans, I should have taken a second set of photos following your strategy. In fact, I'll try executing your strategy using just software to put the pictures backgrounds out of focus. If it looks presentable then I'll post the result.
