    A Hawk From Two Angles...

I shot this Red Shouldered Hawk the beginning of this month. I worked it up and filed it away, revisiting them today. Early morning lights this Cypress Tree quite nicely, it is unpredictable what will be found on it's branches. For these shots I first captured the hawk as I approached the tree, then moved about 50 feet capturing the hawk and light from a different direction. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Lovely compositions, Joe. She seems to be posing for you. You achieve great images with a 300mm zoom. I'm almost tempted to get out there and do the same. (I haven't had the patience so far...)

I love both of these, Joe but I especially like the second one. It's a very interesting perch, but not too interesting to take away from the bird!

Hi Joe, well done a couple of very good images. I like #1 the pose and colour plus a good catch light in the eye. For me in #2 the hawk and tree seem to be competing for attention. Is that a loose feather protruding from the head or a piece of grass.

Hi Joe. As usual, very nice images! Thanks for sharing them! I just wonder if #1 could benefit from a bit more light to the hawk's eye.

    Regards,
