Before the game...
I recently spent some time watching minor league baseball in Modesto, CA and tried my hand at some shots other than nature. The team is the high-A affiliate for the Colorado Rockies and is named the Modesto Nuts.
I would love to get overall C&C on this set. I was having a hard time with the late afternoon light in some of the images and as usual was scared to raise the ISO too high in order to stop motion which was surprisingly noticeable in many images that I captured despite what appeared to be decent light. No game shots as I definitely don't have the gear for that in terms of fast zoom lens...
Stretching before the game (f5.6, 1/1000, -.33EC, ISO 200):
Gloves on the field (f5.6, 1/100, ISO 200):
Signing autographs (f4.5, 1/500, -..67EC, ISO 200):
The ball bag and cart (f5.6, 1/500, -.67EC, ISO 100):
The manager keeping an eye on things (f5.6, 1/500, -.33EC, ISO 200):
And just for fun, the team mascots, Wally the Walnut and Al the Almond. The names are fitting as the central valley is a major producer of nuts and other food for the rest of the country.

Re: Before the game...
Very nice. You did a great job at not blowing highlights on what appears to be a bright and sunny later afternoon.
I like the shot with the gloves on the field.

Re: Before the game...
Thank you John & Marie. I can relate to the issues that wedding photographers have now - white uniforms in the sun must be similar to wedding dresses I checked my blinkies after the shots and adjusted accordingly. As a result I only had a bit of a recovery to take care of when processing the images which is something that I probably wouldn't have been aware of a year ago...

Re: Before the game...
One more shot of some members of the baseball team getting ready for the game - this time in black & white...
I like the composition with the three people looking in different directions and the mono treatment but wonder what others think?
Overall C&C would be appreciated on this image and others in the thread.
