Finally...

I have been trying to get a shot of the dog to the west of me for several weeks now, he is the most camera shy beast I have ever met. I had tried treats on my lap or in front of me and about the time I raised the camera he would already have the treat and be off on his way. Well, I found if i put a baseball size treat on my shoulder he would pose for a short while...so at last I got a couple shots.

This is Fitz, a 185 lb (and still growing) Mastiff.

Outstanding Jon. Know about your problem. When my Jack Russell sees the camera he bolts full speed at me. Impossible to get a good shot. Love the last shot!

Well worth the effort, Jon. I like the last one best, though you could probably tone down the background a bit: it seems a little bright. He looks like he is ready to give you a big slobbery kiss.

Slobber is right. I have never seen a dog drool as much as this one drools.

Drool he may but, he's a magnificent dog. I love the close up. Did you have a "tongue filter" on your lens?

Richard & Grahame, thanks for the comments. I took a chance and went without the "Tongue Filter", it is a good thing he moves so slow. Yes he is a magnificent animal with a great personality
