Spring has finally arrived to my neck of the woods. Spring can be amazingly fickle up here in Minnesota. Just a short 2 weeks ago we got hit with 7" of soggy snow, lakes were still frozen and birds were stymied in their migration



Temperatures are finally reaching a seasonable level and I embarked on the first of many planned visits to my local nature reserve



Sherburne NWR is a patchwork of oak savannah prairie and wetlands, and I was able to reacquaint myself with some old friends from last fall, as well as a few new friends
