nice photo's you've shot
but to me the composition seems a bit random.
For example at the first shot I see some beautiful sunlight at the left edge of the image, I feel like that light in this type of shot would have done some really beautiful things.
But nevertheless the moving water looks really well done

Hi Steve,

I tend to agree with Jeroen about the compositions; the first looks like a re-frame or re-crop might yield a better image and the second is (to my mind) lacking a definite subject.

Sorry, that sounds very negative

I have made a start on viewing your (quite significant) website and I think there are LOTS of better images there, I must think they're good as I intend to go back and make sure I don't miss any! (I still have the tab open)

All constructive criticism gratefully accepted (I've got broad shoulders). These photo's were 'grabbed' on the way down from a 2 hour hike up a very steep muddy track to look at this:



No excuse I know but I was shooting from the wooden gantry and access was limited but I hear your comments on the compositions and will work on that in the future. I was in fact more interested in getting the water 'right' as that is my addiction at the moment

Yes probably could have named it a bit better, keep forgetting that this is a global forum and 'my' Fiordland isn't the only one around

Hi Steve

Well, I have to say it is entirely understandable why you would negotiate a 2 hour climb,
after seeing that picture! Breathtaking view - and one can almost 'feel' the stillness...
good of you to share this.

Very much looking forward to seeing your next efforts when you get to re-visit the area.
And in it's own way, the wooden walkway is pretty impressive as well - access blending
with the surroundings makes for a nice change.

BTW - the 'Norway' thing was my gaff, so I wouldn't worry too much... and on reflection,
I'm not all that fond of Vikings anyway.
