Hard rain

Hey all,

I got caught out in quite a rainstorm this morning and I got to get a chance to see if weather sealing means anything in the process. Which it seems to work quite well as my camera and I got soaked even though i had a huge umbrella. I have to say it was a little bit unsettling to see my camera get that wet.

I like the first one Jason. B&W works really well for this subject. Probably shouldn't have amputated the guy's foot though.

Very nicely done Jason. I like your high key portrait quite a bit with #1 coming in a very close second. The third lacks the sense of movement that the others convey IMHO.

Greg, I wished i managed to zoom out a little to avoid amputation, but I was fumbling with my umbrella while trying to get the shot.

John, where was there flooding? it was quite the downpour. I was completely soaked.

Hi Jason,

Yes #2 works well.

In #1, I'd rotate to make it level (buildings vertical), although that would force an even tighter crop

Thanks again everyone. I had my camera added to my homeowners policy so now I feel more comfortable shooting in the rain. It covers stupidity and misfortune. Now I don't have to worry when I'm out shooting. It was well worth the money.

love the first two, as for the last one i think it be a better impactif it was from his front.

I too always wanted to do heavy rain shots but im not daring enough to put my 60D through that. Perhaps there is a weather coat thingy i can get or make.
