Very nice, the last one is so funny.
There was lots of wonderful color during this event...
Beautiful Filipnas wore dresses with Spanish influence...
The Barong Tagalog is men's formal attire from the Philippines. It is worn at occasions in which cultures from less tropical climates would wear tuxedos and is considered every bit as formal. From personal experience, I know it is a great idea and very comfortable in a hot and humid climate. My barong was all white with the fancy embroidery white on white...
Of course when I wore a barong, I was a lot slimmer than I am now. It is not a flattering outfit for a guy with an ample belly. Along that line, IMO, many ethnic Asian costumes (the kimono from Japan, the Ao Dai from Vietnam, Cheongsam from China, etc., etc.) while looking very beautful on slim, small boned Asian females do not look flattering on larger Caucasian females. That is just my personal opinion...
The lovely lady below modeled a line of clothing that had Asian influences but, was not typically ethnic Asian. She lowered (closed) her eyes quite often and I wanted to capture this expression...
By the way, her skin was that smooth without the benefit of PP smoothing...
I seldom get any images of myself in any venue...
This young lady asked if I knew anything about Vietnamese culture and I told her I had lived in Vietnam for over two years, spoke a litle Vietnames and had studied Vietnam's history and culture. I don't think that was the answer she expectd but, it certainly broke the ice...
