You're right. Your first image demonstrates it very well. To make it even better, lift the details in your hair to be somewhat closer to the details there displayed in your second photo.

Mike, i did try with my limited PS skills to lift up my hair but i couldnt bring the detail into my fair like the second one into the first one.
