Nikon 18-200mm focus issues
A friend at work asked me to look at his Nikon camera which he was having problems with.
Basically his 18-200mm Nikkor lens wouldn't focus beyond a certain distance. Had me beaten and I assumed the lens had a mechanical fault.
Just found this article, (half way down page) and sure enough his lens front element was 2-3 turns loose. Will take a few shots in the morning to check if it was the issue.
Cheers, Greg

Greg,
Good information. Now to just remember it when and if the issue occurs.

Thanks Greg,
Just checked mine and all OK - not that I was having any problems.
Cheers,

Daylight here now. Went outside and the problem is fixed.
Ps, My friend had been to where he bought the camera prior to me being told about it and they said it was obviously a mechanical fault and being out of warranty it would probably be best in the long run to buy a new lens.
I reckon he owes me one.
