Brown and Gold

This image is from a recent trip of mine to the Peak District.

I would welcome your thoughts on it including any C&C

Hi Peter,

I feel it ought to be more successful than it is, it has several good compositional aspects to it, but I dunno, some things are just not right (to my mind).

These are not so much criticisms, more me thinking out loud (bear in mind it is late and I'm tired).

I feel the desire to see more on the left, which makes me query this aspect ratio crop.

It looks from the histo as if you might have lost some shadow detail.

It isn't as big as I'd like (on screen) and yet even at this size, it isn't as sharp as I'd like.

The exposure looks good, but I did wonder about that choice of aperture and the consequences on shutter speed (slow enough for wind movement to blur the bushes slightly perhaps) and iso.

Hi Dave thanks for your comments, much appreciated.
WRT the lack of sharpness I think this may be due to the image being uploaded from Photobucket as the original on my monitors is not soft. The image posted here was cropped as suggested on anther forum the original has the LHS. so sorry that I cropped your desire ;-)
