(Viburnum lantanoides) - These are very showy and are interesting at larger scale for the graceful habit of the plant overall, at medium scale, for the arrangement of blossoms, and close-on for the relation between the blossoms and false blossoms. All intriguing, but no way to get all aspects into frame that tells the whole story. Here are two attempts. Thoughts, comments, criticisms might help me with this. I will post the second effort in the next frame as I can't get tinypic to let me post the second one here...

Possibly a little too much distracting background with the first version, Mark.

Maybe the second crop isn't at the best size ratio?

Perhaps try something like 5 x 4 ratio? Showing a fraction more at the top and bottom.

In which case, I'm not sure about the top right corner. You could try showing a little more here, or totally lose that additional flower.

It is almost there, just experiment with a few alternative crops then make a final decision.

Thanks, both of you. Pinaki - I pp'd for emphasis of the white blossoms and tried to get the background to fall away, particularly by dropping luminance on my reds and oranges and putting in some post crop vignette. Maybe I overdid it.

Done (cloned out)... won't clutter the site with the result, but I'm pretty pleased with this now. Lesson: When needing to crop - explore possibilities thoroughly before settling on any one. Thanks again, Geoff.
