Egret in flight
Captured this yesterday, only shot that is useable. Went to a different area today and there were 5, sadly they were too far away to photograph

Re: Egret in flight
Nicely done Anne, good exposure on the white and technique capturing the detail of the bird. In Florida we have a bird similar... the Great Egret.

Re: Egret in flight
Great shot.
If you have space to the front add a bit to give the bird a bit more room to move into.

Thank you Joe and Bobo ..... sadly no space at the front, I only just managed to capture it ..... will have another attempt at the weekend.

Re: Egret in flight
Very nicely captured! I agree with Bobo, You have 10% of space in front and 20% in back. Reverse those numbers and it will have that head room.

Re: Egret in flight
That is a very nice capture, Anne. I think that often it is worth pulling back a bit on the zoom to make sure you can get the composition you need. From the original that you posted, I feel sure you would have had enough pixels to work with.

Re: Egret in flight
Good details. I would love to see one of these creatures. Sadly they do not venture into the area often.
When you lucky folks are shooting these birds I imagine some exposure compensation is required to not blow out the whites?

Re: Egret in flight
That's about a perfect position on that bird and you were spot on with your focus. Beautiful shot. Agree with prior comments regarding the spacing. But those details are what keeps us coming back

Re: Egret in flight
Thanks again for the helpful comments. I regret to admit that I have never read my camera manual ... decided to fiddle with the setting and by pure fluke captured this bird. Maybe if I read the manual I might do better in future :-)
