Intentionally dark and grainy to emphasise the defeated demeanour of the man.

    All C&C welcomed.

In photographic terms, you have become an acute social observer.

I'm intrigued as to where the inspiration comes from. Do you have the vision in your head and go out and find it, or are you forming the picture in your head as the situation begins to present itself?

    Thanks for commenting Donald.

When I am out of the house for any reason my ( increasingly beloved) Ricoh is in my hand and always either fully on or sleeping. It has a crazily fast focus and I can grab anything that catches my eye.

Then I just look around me everywhere I am and try to capture a mood. The 'mood' I am seeing in Central Scotland just now is rather bleak and poverty ridden and that is another good reason to be recording it.

I expect you to bring out a book anytime now, Sharon. If the number of fans you have here is anything to go by, it will be a best-seller.

I like that the gritty texture so nicely complements the caption.

Thanks Mike. I didn't add a texture but edited in Silver Efex pro 2 to bring the texture out.

There are some souless sandstone buildings in town that were 'flung up' in the 1960's and now look dingy and depressing. ( This one is the Telephone Exchange )

It is sad to look at the town I was born and raised in looking so dilapidated and the people so much without hope.

Then I have to acknowledge the source:

"...(since life can little more supply
Than just to look about us, and to die)"

Lines 3-4, Epistle I of 'Essay on Man', Alexander Pope.

The last flippant line is my own

Sharon, what a great composition. Processing is perfect for what you want to communicate.

    Now this I really like.

Why, I'm not sure but do I really need to know ?
