    Mini Competition #48

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forum.

    Cheers,
    Howard

    Hi Colin,
You know what they say, if you have no talent, you have to resort to other means to win!

I'll bet you a beer Steve S's "Mom returns" will beat the pants off my entry!

LOL - the saying I remember most is "those who can do ... all the rest teach"; and I seem to do a lot of teaching

    Well Colin buddy,
In that case you and I aren't all that different. My phone hasn't been ringing that much. I'm teaching more than I'm shooting for others. The belly dancer was something I stumbled upon and I thought I could use it on my blog.

    Reeds under Moon Light

Here is my entry: Reeds under Moon Light

It was around 4.20am on 3 December, 2009, a full moon night. The reeds were shed by the moon light in the darkness. I was about 10 meters away from the reeds. Focusing the reeds was quite difficult even using the live view with the 10X mode. Long exposure was needed due to a low light. I used ISO400 to achieve 109 seconds exposure time under aperture f/11. Lucky enough, the reeds seemed to remain relatively still during the exposure time.

    The Elfstone of Pedzinski

I'm slowly learning to use my flash, usually in tandem with a properly exposed background. This a 3 second exposure at f2.8, tungsten white balance (ambient light source, sodium vapor lights?)and an ISO200 as my friend firies off his flash unit! In retrospect, I would have tried a different white balance and gelled my friends flash for a warmer tone.
